From Kabul
to Christ

This book is more than a memoir—it's a testimony to the hope that Christ brings even in the darkest valleys. Whether you’re exploring faith or already walking with Jesus, my journey will inspire you to trust God through your own trials and discover the freedom and peace that only He can give.

Join me as I recount the road from fear to faith, from Kabul to Christ.

There are moments in life when we are forced to leave behind everything we know, everything that has defined us, and embark on a journey into the unknown. My journey began in Afghanistan, a land rich in history, culture, and faith, but marred by conflict and loss. What started as a hopeful beginning soon turned into a path marked by hardship, uncertainty, and displacement. Yet, it is in the midst of this turmoil that I discovered the depth of resilience, the power of faith, and the unwavering truth that no matter how far we travel, we can always find our way home.

Leaving Afghanistan was not a choice—it was a necessity. The world I had once known crumbled beneath my feet, leaving me with nothing but the hope that a better future awaited. The journey took me to India, where I was greeted by unfamiliar streets, foreign languages, and a sense of being a stranger in a place that should have been a refuge. It was in these dark moments of displacement that I found the light of faith, a source of strength I had never fully understood before. Christ became my guide, my anchor, and through His grace, I began to see a world beyond my circumstances, a world full of possibility and redemption.

About Hasib

Photo of author Hasib Frotan

Hasib Frotan was born and raised as a Muslim in Afghanistan. When he was a teen, he and his parents fled the war around them and arrived in India. Living in India brought many questions about his identity and self, and eventually bought him to ask questions about his faith and about Christ. From Kabul to Christ is a short personal memoir recounting his thoughts, fears, and hopes through his personal faith journey that started in Afghanistan, grew in India, and eventually brought him to Canada.

Hasib is now a member of the Afghan Church of the Greater Toronto Area, a recognized community volunteer, photographer, and online English tutor for girls in Afghanistan. (Girls are no longer permitted to attend school in Afghanistan.)

The Afghan Church in Canada and Hasib personally are in contact with Afghan Christians around the world. Some are in hiding in Afghanistan, others are refugees in second countrieslike Hasib himself was when he was living in India. Your donation to the Afghan Church enables them to minister to these brothers and sisters, and to bring the gospel to those who do not yet know Jesus.
